The "Energy" pattern in the Pranayama app is tailored to mobilize mental resources, enhance concentration, and increase physical endurance. This exercise is particularly beneficial for promoting mindfulness, energizing the body, and fighting drowsiness.

Breathing Patterns

Levels

  • Basic Level

    • Pattern: 1:2:2:0 (Inhale: Hold Inside: Exhale: Hold Outside)
    • Duration: Each cycle takes 5 seconds.
    • Objective: To initiate an energy boost with a moderate internal hold.
  • Intermediate Level

    • Pattern: 1:3:2:0
    • Duration: Each cycle takes 6 seconds.
    • Objective: To enhance the energizing effect with a longer internal hold.
  • Advanced Level

    • Pattern: 1:4:2:0
    • Duration: Each cycle takes 7 seconds.
    • Objective: To maximize energy levels with an extended internal hold.

Additional Information

  • Progression: Start with the Basic level and progress to Intermediate and Advanced as comfort with the pattern increases.
  • Integration: Can be combined with physical activities or as a standalone energizing practice.

Caution

  • If you experience any discomfort, particularly during breath holds, return to normal breathing.
  • Not recommended before sleep as it may lead to difficulty in falling asleep.
